John William Pope Foundation Grants $3.49 Million in Fall 2018

RALEIGH, N.C. – This fall, the John William Pope Foundation issued grants totaling $3.49 million.  Among the grants issued were $987,250 to 70 nonprofits doing work in human services and the arts and $200,000 for the Joy W. Pope Memorial Grant Program. Nonprofits who received grants included those working in addiction treatment, hunger relief, affordable housing, prison ministry, youth development programs, employment and life skills training, and art performance and education, among others.

Another $2.2 million was given to UNC-Chapel Hill, SECU Family House, Asheville School, Virginia Episcopal School, and Ravenscroft to meet previous pledges made.  Earlier in the year, the foundation granted $105,000 to statewide hurricane recovery efforts.

A full list of grants made by the Pope Foundation this fall is below. The two winners of the 2019 Joy W. Pope Memorial Grant will be named in February 2019 and this list will be updated to reflect the announcement when it occurs.
