RALEIGH, NC: The John William Pope Foundation announced it awarded $3.124 million in grants to nonprofits predominately located in the triangle. The organizations that received grants are focused on housing, hunger and youth development as well as the performing arts and arts education.
In addition, the family foundation awarded a total of $420,000 in grants for Hurricane Helene relief to Baptists on Mission, Community Housing Coalition of Madison County, Safelight, Salvation Army, Samaritan’s Purse, Southern Sun Farm Sanctuary and YMCA of Western North Carolina.
“Supporting North Carolinians during a time of need is integral to our foundation’s mission,” said John William Pope Foundation Chairman Art Pope. “We are happy to provide aid to our neighbors in Western North Carolina who will be recovering from the destruction of Hurricane Helene for years to come.”
